Traveling museum, private memorabilia collection, and effort to preserve the history of Houston's legendary theme park.
At the AstroWorld Theme Park Museum, we seek to honor and preserve the work of the dreamers, artisans and team members who made Houston's AstroWorld a generational place of wonder and happiness. We accomplish this by collecting and exhibiting souvenirs, memorabilia, and historical items from the park's history and showcasing those items to the public in various settings.
The most celebrated names in connection with AstroWorld's history include (but are not limited to): Judge Roy Hofheinz, Ed Henderson, Rolly Crump, Micki McClelland, Randall Duell, Harper Goff, Winn Morton, Bill Crandall and Chuck Hendrix.
Currently, the AstroWorld Traveling Museum consists of over 400 unique items including souvenirs, candid photos, wardrobe pieces, signage, and other pieces of memorabilia from throughout the park's 37-year history. The collection is privately-owned. As curator of the collection, Donald Hayes maintains an ongoing effort to source, vet and purchase all forms of AstroWorld materials.

Check out this great video, made by our good friend and #1 AstroWorld Fan, Kenny Ryman.
This is a series of video clips and still images from AstroWorld's "River of No Return" boat ride. This ride was originally known as "The Lost World" when it first opened in 1968. The ride, a simulated riverboat cruise on the "Rio Mysterio" takes riders on a journey through the jungle, with appearances by King Kong, Magoomba the River God, and much more. The audio is a recording of the live spiel, provided by a former AstroWorld employee.
